Porvoo River Carnival

On Saturday, August 30th, from 2 PM to 12 PM, the Porvoo River Carnival will be held at the Art Factory’s riverside park with outdoor cinema and a diverse carnival program in August Eklöf’s park on the West Bank.

The event celebrates the end of summer and welcomes the darker evenings after the bright summer.

The well-known Dancing Waters show from the first year returns to the program. There will be a spectacular light and water show with lively music.

The River Carnival’s program includes carnival atmosphere, music, outdoor cinema, and a light and water installation at the Porvoo River throughout the day.

Movies will be shown at the Art Factory’s riverside park on a large outdoor screen. Picnic tables and benches as well as sun loungers will be placed on the grass area. Bring your own snacks or buy treats from the area’s street food vendors and enjoy the whole day. The Art Factory’s riverside street will be closed to car traffic.

Sales kiosks will be placed in August Eklöf’s park and street food spots will be located near the Art Factory’s riverside park. Picnic benches and tables as well as comfortable sun loungers will be placed in the Art Factory’s riverside park so that you can enjoy street food treats or your own snacks during the day.

Throughout the day, there will be music, movies, and a spectacular light and water installation at the Porvoo River. The event’s cheerful and music-filled program is suitable for the whole family.

The Porvoo River Carnival is organized by Visit Porvoo, Porvoo City’s cultural services, and the Porvoo Region Music Institute.

The outdoor cinema screenings are carried out at the request of the residents, as it was one of the results that won the participatory budgeting vote.

The tourism and events unit coordinates and markets the whole event and produces the spectacular Dancing Waters light, sound, and water show at the Porvoo River.Summer’s end welcomes the darker evenings after the bright summer.
