With over 20 years of experience, Augur and fishing guide Erik Herlevi are among the most experienced companies doing fishing trips in Finland. Benitas Café is a genuine islander’s café at Pellinki, Sandholmsudden, visitor harbour (approx. 35 km from Porvoo town centre). The café is easily accessible either by car or by boat. There is also an outdoor market on summer Saturdays. Benitas Café is a fully-licensed café with guest moorings, emptying point for septic tanks, sauna and laundry facilities, fuel sold and drinkable water.

Bosgård manor and organic farm is situated 14 kilometers East of Porvoo. Get acquainted with a working traditional Finnish farm along the manor’s extensive nature trails (400 m, 1,5 km and 4 km). The trails have information boards in Finnish, with translation booklets available in Swedish, English and Russian. Topics include the manor’s Charolais organic cattle, the preservation of traditional heritage landscapes and non-clearcut forestry. The nature trails are free and open all year. If the manor shop is closed, pick up a map in English from the mail box (check seasonal opening hours at bosgard.com). There are two picnic tables along the nature trails.

Briefcaserun is a unique adventure and puzzle-solving game played in idyllic Old Porvoo, which is suitable for all ages – both first-timers and experienced players. The game combines treasure hunting and puzzle solving without apps or smart devices. Briefcaserun can be played in a team of 2 to 6 people or with several teams taking measurements from each other. The game can be played simultaneously up to 60 players. The difficulty level and playing time can be chosen by the team, the recommended duration of the game is 1.5 to 3 hours. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Briefcaserun 2 – The Tie Breaker! Did you miss something from the first game? Is there a place for revenge? The game will be held regardless of the weather – appropriate clothing and equipment are important! Café Jemma offers an experiential break with delicious treats prepared in its own kitchen, set in the stunning archipelago landscape of Porvoo. It is located on the shore of Elämyspoukama on the island of Emäsalo in Porvoo. The café is easily accessible by car, bicycle, or boat. You can also rent equipment such as kayaks, canoes, and SUP boards. There is a playground for children, and pets are welcome too.

The castle hills situated north of Old Porvoo are significant ancient monuments. Iso Linnamäki (Great Castle Hill) is the site of one of the biggest ancient fortresses in Finland, while on Pikku Linnamäki (Lesser Castle Hill) there is an Iron Age burial site, discovered in 1965. Iso Linnamäki is criss-crossed by many paths and there are also now dried up moats, which can still be seen, with wooden bridges across them. There you can also spot the great pine with its twisted roots that artist Albert Edelfelt depicted in his painting ‘Porvoo seen from Linnamäki’.

At the foot of the Linnamäki hills is Maari Park, a favourite with Porvoo residents for walks and picnics.

Memorable cocktail schools are now available at Porvoo Villas. The cocktail school can be held, weather permitting, for example on the seashore. The wonderful surroundings of the villas guarantee a memorable experience with cocktails (or mocktails) all year round. Cocktail schools are suitable for all adults. The cooking competition is a playful cooking course where you compete with each other. The course is led by our own chef Mark Kumlin. Competitors’ skills and ingenuity are put to the test and success requires cooperation. This course is suitable for working groups or a group of friends. Program length approx. 2-3 hours. Group size 6-30 people.

Porvoo Villas organize cooking courses in cooperation with Nordic Taste Trail Ab. Cooking takes place in our villas either outdoors, where there are grills and an open fire, or alternatively indoors. Cooking courses are aimed for all lovers of good food teaching basic cooking techniques in a relaxed atmosphere. Group size from 8 people. Large groups are also possible during the summer courses. Everyone can succeed on this course!

Food preparation courses are perfectly suited as a program for birthday parties, company recreational days or for meetings, groups of friends and bachelorette parties or, for example, as a teaching course for those following a special diet.

Porvoo has 32 km of lighted ski trails, for example Kokonniemi 5 km, Humla 7 km, Joonaanmäki 3 km and Haikkoo 2 km.

Kokonniemi ski centre has five slopes, all of them illuminated. The greatest height difference is 55 m and the longest slope 400 m. There is also a halfpipe/street, a children’s slope, five skilifts, ski rental, a skiing school and a restaurant as well as a ski track for cross-country skiing.

We pack a packed lunch on the back of one donkey and take the rest of the donkeys with us and head for the forest. Our peaceful and all-inclusive trips last two hours. The route passes through the national landscape of the Porvoo river valley. In the silence of the forest we take a lunch break.

Donkey trekking is popular in France, from which we have taken inspiration for our activity. We do not ride on the donkeys, they act as hiking buddies and snack bearers. In the woods, socializing has never been so much fun!

The 1.5-kilometre-long nature trail at Ekkudden is located in a nature reserve just over two kilometres south from the centre of town. The path starts from the Tarkkinen playing field. It continues across the field towards an area of magnificent oak and lime trees. The trail goes through a protected grove and mixed woods between the rocky shore and fields.

Along the path you will find notice boards providing information on vegetation and wildlife and a bird-watching tower where you can observe meadow and reed birds. The notice boards are in Finnish, Swedish and English.

The terrain along the path is easy. In the damper areas there are wooden plank walkways to make it easier to cross. The protected areas are protected by conservation laws and regulations

Old Porvoo is one of the most photographed national landscapes in Finland. The route takes you trough old Porvoo to Linnamäki. We continue along riverside and Porvoo national urban park to Hamari’s telegraph hill. The route ends in Poukama on Emäsalo Island where you can enjoy campfire coffee and cinnamon buns. After a bit of relaxing a car takes you back to central Porvoo. The trip is organized by Elämyspoukama.

In the playful competition, everyone gets to participate and the winner is rewarded. Fishing takes place from the large villa Eriksberg’s dock area. After the race, there will be a sauna and a barbecue. The activity is perfect for companies and group as recreational day program, to supplement meetings, for bachelor parties or groups of friends – for anyone and of any age, group size 6-14 people.

Fishing Lords has been involved in organising fishing trips since 2000. Our guides are trained and experienced both in fishing and in customer service. As we are out on the sea daily, we are always up to date on the day’s fishing, we can take you to the right fishing grounds and give you the best tips for making a good catch. Persons between 18 and 64 need to pay the state fishing management fee which enables the use of one fishing pole in the whole of Finland. For hook and line angling or ice fishing no separate permit is needed. If you are under 18 years old or over 65, no fee is charged for any fishing. Fishing permits in Finland

For other fishing (with trap, net or several fishing poles) a permission is needed from the owner of the water area. These permits can be bought at Kompassi and temporary permits at Hamari harbor

Good fishing spots close to the city centre can be found at Kokonniemi or at the bridges leading to Sikosaari (but not permitted in the Ruskis nature preservation area east of the road Sikosaarentie).

Geocaching is an outdoor activity, where you hide boxes called geocaches to nature or a built environment. Inside the box you put a logbook and a pen and possibly some small items for exchange. You inform the location of the geocache on the Internet as coordinates and other geocachers search for the caches with the help of a gps device.

It is very common among the geocachers to combine travelling and geocaching, as one selects the travel destination on the basis of where one would find geocaches. Usually the caches are also located near nature- or cultural sights, so at the same time they present the local sights.

Welcome to Askola to discover these huge potholes – also known as “the Giant’s Kettles”. They are the most extensive geological find of its kind in Finland, located 27 km north of Porvoo. The potholes are situated in an amazing forest on a rocky slope named Kirnukallio. In Finnish Giants Kettles are called “Hiidenkirnut”. The largest one is called “Jättiläisen kuhnepytty” (The Giant’s Tub) and has a diameter of 4,2 metres and is 10,3 metres in depth. The potholes were formed more than 10 000 years ago at the end of the last ice age.

Access to Kirnukallio is by a footpath through the woods, starting from a parking lot by the Askola–Pukkila main road (1635). The walk to the pothole area is about 500 metres. There is also a scenic path (about 300 metres long) that leads up to the entrance of the pothole area. The pothole area is always open to visitors. Association Askola-Seura takes care of the pothole area, but there is no special wintertime maintenance. An entrance fee is payable on location by cash. The terrain in the area consists of natural forest paths, rocks and stairs. Visitors enter the area at their own risk.

Porvoo Villas organizes in cooperation with the Nordic Taste Trail the opportunity to barbeque with a chef.

This is a good opportunity for a work group or a group of friends to do something absolutely amazing together. We start with different grilling methods and raw materials – then we get down to business. During the event, we use a charcoal grill, open fire and a gas grill. For example, we prepare a barbecue buffet from the season’s great ingredients, and of course we have fun! This is not Hell’s Kitchen, although it will certainly be warm. What could be more fun than having a barbecue on our large pier by the sea. Full drinking rights at Villa Eriksberg.

Hasselholmen nature trail is located in the city’s outdoor recreation area. From the town centre, travel through Sannainen along the road for about 14 kilometres to get there. There are no buses to the outdoor recreation area, so you will need to get there using your own transport. In the summertime you can get to the area by rowing a boat across Veckjärvi from the Staffas side of the lake.

The trail starts from the car park near the summer kiosk and beach.

• The path is approximately 1.5 kilometres long and runs through a conservation area of beautiful and diverse vegetation.
• There are some notice boards along the trail in Finnish and Swedish, which include descriptions of the lime and hazel forested area.
• The terrain along the path is easy. The trail is marked with orange spots and bands along the terrain.
• The protected areas are protected by conservation laws and regulations.

Meetings, Christmas parties, recreation days, bachelor parties. Spacious sauna and washing facilities, fresh changing rooms, a spacious and comfortable sauna, kitchen facilities are located on the outskirts of the old town in Hornhattula. In the yard you can also fight for the beach volleyball championship. A spacious parking is available on the premises.

In Southern Finland fishing on pike, perch, pikeperch, salmon fish of the genus and seasonally some other fish like baltic herring. You don’t need equipments or fishing clothing, all needed is included. We arrange all catering, accommodation, sauna, etc in co-operation with our partners. The guides of Haukikoira – Fishing Services have decades of fishing experience. All guides are fully certified fishing instructors and possess all required licenses for Finland and surrounding waters.

A fishing trip lasts for about seven hours (duration is decided upon together with the group). At the end of the trip the guide will take care of the processing of the fish, if the customer wants to bring home the catch.

Travel a distance of approximately 50 km by sea from Helsinki to Porvoo. There are numerous accommodation and recreation destinations as well as other services in the archipelago.

A kayaking trip from Helsinki to Porvoo is not suitable for complete beginners. You must have orienteering and survival skills. You must know the weather conditions and their effect on kayaking. An hovercraft is a watercraft that moves supported by an air column. The hovercraft is able to move on land in a wide variety of terrains as well as on water and ice.

Welcome to a different adventure trip to the Pellinge Archipelago, a nature where stories come to life. The theme trip is based on the beloved picture book ‘The Book about Moomin, Mymble and Little My’ by Tove Jansson. Island Riddles will take you on a milk-seeking trip to the Moomin primeval forest and to the same beaches that Tove used to walk as a child. When you set out on your journey, you will receive a book along with 14 puzzles, by solving them you will find the path through the forest. Take your friend by the hand, let’s go!

Walk along the bridge to enjoy the blaze of the fire, spectacular views and delicious treats prepared by our chef. In the forest, where you can see wild boars, you will find a stunning log cabin, a cosy room with a fireplace for small-scale meetings, a shingle-roofed outdoor terrace for events for up to 100 people and a sauna in a cave with hot tubs outside. Located a few kilometres away, Kannonnokan Navetta offers meeting and function venues for up to 100 people in a countryside setting, on the banks of the Porvoonjoki River.

Take a kayaking trip to the Porvoo archipelago on your own. The kayaks for rent are suitable for beginners. You can also choose a two-person kayak, in which parents can take along a child. Also available is a basic single kayak. The SUP boards are so-called hardboards (not inflatable), which due to their sturdiness, are also suitable for beginners.

Kråkö Bryggeri is a small brewery on the island of Kråkö, 15 km south of the center of Porvoo. You can get there not only by car, but also by sea (pier length over 100m) or even by helicopter (field on the beach).

The premises are Kråkö’s former school buildings, which have a brewery restaurant, conference facilities and two art galleries. Outdoors there is a stage, a hop garden, a natural flower meadow and a huge 15,170 m² drinking area.

In addition to restaurant services, Kråkö Bryggeri offers beer training, tasting events, conference facilities, a recreation and development day program and hovercraft cruises in winter.

Sheep bleating, ponies neighing, donkeys shouting! Sikari the Pig also loves a chat, or actually a snore. At Kungsbacka, children will see storybook animals in real life. You can feed grass to our animals and also pet almost all of them.

m/s J.L. Runeberg cruises almost daily between Helsinki and Porvoo from May to September. Built originally as a steamship in Helsinki in 1912, the vessel is still in superb condition. Forget the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Take a cruise through the wonderful archipelago seascape!

In addition to the spacious living room and dining room, the 150-square-meter beach sauna building has a compact, well-equipped kitchen, two toilets and of course, wonderful sauna facilities. Metal Safaris offers fascinating metal-detecting tours in Porvoo, in Southern Finland. Each tour is a unique opportunity to seek underground treasures with metal detectors in carefully chosen historical surroundings. Each safari lasts for about 3 hours and the walking distance vary between 1–3 kilometres. The search areas range from Bronze Age hills surroundings and forests to medieval and 18th-century mansions and fields.

The Näsinmäki hill is located just across the river from Old Porvoo. The view point “Näsi stone” is a rock moved by the ice age and gives a good panorama over Porvoo. On the hill stands the Näsi manor house and behind it one of the oldest cemeteries in Finland (1789) being a popular walk to find Finnish celebrities or enjoy birds singing. The Näsinmäki parkforest has inspired artists and delighted tourists for hundreds of years.

A spacious hall is at your disposal for meals or meetings. The space is perfectly suited for events of 10-20 people and can accommodate a maximum of 50 people. If the weather permits, it is also possible to spread out on the large terrace, which offers wonderful sea views.

Nybergs Varpet’s sauna crowns the evening! The sauna can comfortably fit about 15 people, and there is a dressing room and a fireplace room connected to it. From the dressing room there is access to the terrace, where there is plenty space for 9 people. Illuminated wooden stairs from the terrace lead directly to the beach, where you can take a dip in the sea.

Enjoy the unique archipelago landscape together with skipper Johan Sundbäck, he grew up in the Pellinki archipelago and knows the islands, traditions and values of the archipelago. It is possible to bring your own lunch bag or order a ready-made one. Perfect to enjoy ashore on one of the many islands that are available to explore.

Pellinge Boattaxi offers boat trips and boat taxi services in the Porvoo archipelago and the surrounding area. The home port is located on the Sundö family farm in Pellinki. Sundö can be conveniently reached by both car and boat.

Visit Pellinki archipelago located about 30 km southeast of Porvoo. Join a guided tour if you want to learn more about Pellinki’s past and present and our beautiful archipelago. We offer guided visits at the local heritage museum Hörbergsgården, St. Olaf’s Chapel, and Glosholm, the island where the ruins of the Pellinki lighthouse are located. A tour can also take place during a village or forest walk, or as a themed walk, such as “In Tove’s Footsteps”.

The facility has two separate saunas, changing rooms and toilets. One of the toilets is accessible. The cabin space includes a large balcony, seating for about 20 people, refrigerator, drinks cabinet, ceramic stove, oven, coffee maker, kettle, dishwasher, cooking utensils and crockery for 20 people, microwave oven, television and sound system.

Come and experience a unique trip to the nature in Porvoo archipelago. Rent a kayak or sup-board from Kråkö island and explore the surroundings of the Sahasaari islands. The historic former sawmill area is a real bird paradise and the distance to the islands from the shore of the rental shop is only 50 meters. The water is shallow and the islands protect from the wind, so paddling is easy even for a beginner.

The kayaks for rent are very stable and slide easily. The large opening makes it easy to get in and out of. The kayak is great for beginners. The new SUP boards from Balance are 335 cm long and very stable.

Minigolf is exciting and fun for everyone. Porvoo minigolf centre is situated in a cozy park nearby Porvoo River.

You can also get to Porvoo by train on summer Saturdays! The museum railcar known as Lättähattu, or Flat Hat, will take passengers between Helsinki and Porvoo. The train starts in the morning in Helsinki and is in Porvoo around noon. Return trip in the afternoon.

Tickets are sold on board at the train, no seat reservations. Bicycles and prams will be carried free of charge in the goods van. Welcome to a ride on a traditional local “Flat Hat”!

Do you need a guide for a certain day, time or for a bigger group? You can book a guide through a local travel agency Porvoo Tours. Guided tours can be booked in 14 different languages.

Rent a city bike or jump on your own and spend the day exploring the villages of Porvoo, admiring the natural landscape and enjoying local delicacies. The route is more than 60 kilometers long, so be sure to enjoy adequate hydration and food in cafes, pubs and restaurants along the way. Pirkka-Adolf is a photovoltaic catamaran that can be rented in the Porvoonjoki river as a self-service at an hourly rate of 39 €. The boat is easy to use, suitable for beginners, and is just the right gadget for wondering about the Porvoonjoki river!

Pirkka-Adolf is a prototype of E-Boat Oy’s Sunnycat boat. It was originally designed as an electric boat, and you can’t even get an internal combustion engine without modifications. The idea behind the fun-looking boat is that it runs at low power, and works mainly with their own solar panels. In addition to the light passage, the catamaran also offers the awesome advantage that the boat doesn’t swing much, and there is plenty of interior space.

The electric boat works really well, especially in rental use. If you’ve ever tried to the outboard motor and wondered why the contraption doesn’t work, there’s no problem here. The engine is on when you press the button. And not a rental. after that, you need to think about where and how to refuel the boat. To the delight of city dwellers and other boaters, the boat also does not make a loud noise or make a big wave.

Sikosaari nature trail is located a few kilometres south of the city centre. The trail begins on the Sikosaarentien arm of the island, at the first houses. The trail is mostly in boreal forest dominated by old spruce trees, and it varies between bright rocky pine woods and shore reeds and groves. From the observation platform at the edge of the reeds, you can see a variety of birds.

•  The terrain along the path is easy. In the wetter areas there are wooden plank walkways, though rubber boots may be necessary in wet weather.
• The length of the trail is approximately 1.5 kilometres.
• The trail is marked with orange spots.
• There are notice boards along the trail explaining the area’s natural features in Finnish and Swedish.

Cold treatment has a long history and it has been used for centuries to release pain. Cold treatment is still used to ease swelling and pain. It has originally been used for pain relief and to treat rheumatic diseases.

Tarmola Padel is the biggest padel center in Porvoo. We have five courts, pro shop, cozy lounge, showers and free parking spaces.

Welcome to get to know Kråkö’s boat building tradition and famous boat builders from Kråkö! The exhibition features a wooden boat under construction, which allows you to learn about the basic work steps of boat building and, for example, how a board is bent and pressed into the right shapes and what kind of tools boat builders use.

The Kråkö Boat Builders Museum is open in the summer season on the 2nd Saturday of the month 14–16 pm, in connection with village events and by agreement.

The museum is located at the tip of the Girsnäs peninsula in Kråkön in Porvoo, opposite Haikko Manor, about 16 km south of the center of Porvoo. You can get there by paved road and by boat to Girsnäs guest pier (free parking, max 4 h).

In addition to the guide’s experience you will have a safe fishing boat and appropriate tackle for all kinds of fishing and for different types of fish. You can also choose a shorter fishing and boat trip in the sea just offshore from Porvoo.

TR-Kalastus is actively involved in fishing all year round, so the guides’ knowledge of the movements, habits and seasons of the fish are at customers’ disposal. The trips are always tailored to suit the customer’s wishes, taking the season and the weather into account.

Located in a stunning countryside setting by the banks of the Porvoonjoki River, Tukkilan tila farm provides meeting and accommodation services. We organise different employees’ well-being at work and recreation days for companies. The atmospheric meeting room has just undergone a renovation. Relaxed chilling to which you can combine getting to know the farm’s donkeys, different corporate coaching, great food and the pleasure of enjoying Tukkila’s smoke sauna that is more than 100 years old.

Varlaxudden is a recreation area by the seashore situated 25 kilometers south from the city center. Here you can admire the horizon, cliffs and rocks on the seashore. Enjoy the birdlife and changing of the seasons – this place is majestic and different each time of the year. This is the number one place for photographers to get their best shots day and night!

The area has a few points for barbeque and a dry toilet.

The cozy private sauna has its own sauna, shower room and lounge area. The sauna facilities serve both our hotel guests and groups of up to 20 people upon request. The sauna is heated on request. You can book a sauna at our reception on site when you check in or in advance.

Virvik nature trail is located in an outdoor recreation area about 15 kilometres southeast of the centre of Porvoo. You can get to Virvik daily by bus from the centre of Porvoo, as well as by car. The trail is located next door to the Virvik golf course. There is also a public beach about one kilometre from the path. There is a café in the old Virvik Manor building.

• The trail is approximately 2.5 kilometres long, and it runs through varied and sometimes rough terrain. This then presupposes that visitors will have a moderately good level of fitness and appropriate footwear.
• In the damper areas there are wooden plank walkways to make it easier to cross. Rubber boots may still be necessary in wet weather.
• The trail is marked with orange spots and bands along the terrain.
• There are notice boards along the trail explaining the area’s natural features in Finnish and Swedish.

The new Villa Bastu wooden sauna of Porvoo villas, awaits bathers from May 2025. In addition to the sauna, you can take a dip in the swimming pool or the sea. Cold plunge tub, catering services and side program also available; e.g. disco-style water gym, water yoga, relaxing massage with sound bowls or salt sauna.

Also available for meetings and accommodation. Can be combined with neighboring villas for use by a larger group. Public sauna shifts are also available!

Gammelbacka nature trail is located in the forested area between Gammelbacka and Hamari, and it is intended for outdoor recreational use.

• The trail is approximately one kilometer and it starts from next to the parish community centre.
• In connection with the nature trail, there is also a shorter tree species trail, which passes through the old manor park grounds nearby.
• There are notice boards along the tree species trail with marked names of plant and tree species from the park.
