Porvoo has 32 km of lighted ski trails, for example Kokonniemi 5 km, Humla 7 km, Joonaanmäki 3 km and Haikkoo 2 km.

Kokonniemi ski centre has five slopes, all of them illuminated. The greatest height difference is 55 m and the longest slope 400 m. There is also a halfpipe/street, a children’s slope, five skilifts, ski rental, a skiing school and a restaurant as well as a ski track for cross-country skiing.

On this tour we admire the colorful wooden houses, winding cobbled streets and beautiful nature of Porvoo national urban park guided by a local guide. The tour starts from Porvoo bus station. The route takes you trough old Porvoo to Linnamäki. We continue along riverside and Porvoo national urban park to Hamari’s telegraph hill. The route ends in Poukama on Emäsalo Island where you can enjoy campfire coffee and cinnamon buns. After a bit of relaxing a car takes you back to central Porvoo. The castle hills situated north of Old Porvoo are significant ancient monuments. Iso Linnamäki (Great Castle Hill) is the site of one of the biggest ancient fortresses in Finland, while on Pikku Linnamäki (Lesser Castle Hill) there is an Iron Age burial site, discovered in 1965. Iso Linnamäki is criss-crossed by many paths and there are also now dried up moats, which can still be seen, with wooden bridges across them. There you can also spot the great pine with its twisted roots that artist Albert Edelfelt depicted in his painting ‘Porvoo seen from Linnamäki’.

At the foot of the Linnamäki hills is Maari Park, a favourite with Porvoo residents for walks and picnics.
