Have a taste of Porvoo

Porvoo is famous for its good food, and for good reason. With a population of around fifty thousand, the city has an incredible array of top quality restaurants, cute cafés and casual lunch spots serving both traditional Finnish and international flavours.

Many restaurants in Porvoo focus on locally produced and seasonal ingredients and organic produce.

Porvoo is known as one of Finland’s food capitals. Here you can enjoy the high-quality flavours of a Michelin restaurant or indulge in the sweets of Brunberg, Finland’s oldest still-operating confectionery factory, which is over 150 years old. Porvoo is also home to Runeberg cakes, named after our national poet, all year round.

We’ve listed some of the best tasting destinations, from cafés to beer gardens, from fine dining to sweet shops.

Welcome to have a taste of Porvoo!

“I work in J. L. Runeberg's home as a public relations officer, and I am often asked for recommendations on places to eat, especially where to get Runeberg cakes.”
