Pop up -distribution of face masks in Gammelbacka on Feb 3rd

The City of Porvoo is handing out face masks made of fabric outside the shopping centre in Gammelbacka on Wednesday, February 3rd at 2 pm–4 pm. The masks are free.
The local distribution reaches residents who can’t travel to the city centre to pick up masks that Porvoo provides for people with low income.
A hygienic nurse, people from the city’s youth services and immigrant services are participating in the pop up -event. The previous pop up-distributions in Gammelbacka, Kevätkumpu and the city centre have been successful events, according to Annika Immonen, service director for social services for adults in Porvoo.
– We have met people of different ages and people that speak many different languages, Immonen says. We give advice on how to use the face mask correctly and information on other things you can do to stop the spreading of the corona virus.
She adds that Porvoo also wants to reach those who don’t follow the city’s usual information channels
The masks are free of charge and the event continues for as long as we have masks to hand out. Everyone who feels that they are in need of a mask will get one. No one will check your personal information or your economic situation.
It is very important that we keep a safe distance and apply good hand hygiene at the event. Please stay home if you feel ill, even if your symptoms are mild.
