Kilpilahti - sustainable and intelligent regeneration
The largest oil refining and petrochemical cluster in the Nordic countries is located in Kilpilahti in Porvoo Finland. There are over 40 companies and 4200 jobs in the area. The region's goal is to develop into a world-class bio and circular economy hub.
In Kilpilahti, they focus on research, product development and marketing of low carbon and energy efficient processes and products that meet the requirements of sustainable development. Kilpilahti is a good example of a seamless circular economy ecosystem, as in Kilpilahti waste, material and by-product flows flow from company to company.
The area offers new businesses opporturnities for companies to participate in future development.
Kulloo business area
More than thirty new business plots are coming to the north of Kilpilahti refinery area, along with Nybyntie and Metsäpirtintie. The plot sizes range from 5,000 m² to 72,000 m². The City plots will come for sale in the end of 2020, at the earliest. (The city planning documents in Finnish)
