Porvoo Jazz Club: Arttu Huopainen South-East Corner

South-East Corner is a jazz band led by drummer Arttu Huopainen, playing music composed by him
. The music is a mixture of jazz music traditions and themes from his
home region. A combination of different saxophones, double bass and drum kit form an ensemble that sounds airy, offering a wide range of timbres. The songs feature varied rhythms, singing themes and plenty of room for improvisation.

Arttu Huopainen (b.1998) is an active freelance musician in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area. His playing can be heard in the ranks of Sointi Jazz Orchestra, Syskofrenia, TRI-, Tuigu led by guitarist Juha Björninen and many other bands.
