Experience a Traditional Sauna Ceremony at Poukama

In a traditional sauna session, you will take part in a unique sauna ceremony guided by a sauna host, drawing on the gifts of the season—plants, birch whisks, sauna incantations, and other seasonal traditional knowledge and cultural practices.

In the heart of winter, we gather strength for a new cycle, and a winter sauna ceremony is centered on slowing down and finding stillness.
Evergreen conifers are unmatched natural gifts in sauna tradition during the dark season: they support the respiratory system, endurance, and mood, providing exactly what we need during the midwinter darkness.

Traditional sauna bathing is a multi-sensory experience where you can enjoy the healing power of nature and steam through herbal infusions and restorative whisking.
You can let go of everyday life, sink into the warmth of the steam, and allow time to pause. The sauna host takes care of the program and cooling breaks.

Traditional sauna bathing is suitable for everyone, regardless of prior sauna experience, but please inform us in advance of any allergies or other health considerations that may affect your sauna session.

What to bring to a traditional sauna session:

• Swimsuit and towel

• Sauna hat, if available

• Optionally, slippers and a sauna robe for cooling breaks

• For drinks, it is recommended to bring, for example, mineral water

The sauna session takes place in Poukama’s wood-heated sauna, and there is also an opportunity to take a dip in the ice-cold sea.

BOOK YOUR PLACE
The session begins at 6:00 PM, so please arrive on time to prepare.
Duration: 1 hour, with space for 8 participants per session.
After the sauna, there will be a moment to relax.
